Hi, my name is Rachel, and I am the owner and Licence Holder for Dotty’s Daycare & Home Boarding (DDHB).
We have a resident family dog called Dotty who is very loveable, adores play time and her favourite things are tennis balls!
Along with Dotty, I live with my husband, Tom and our two children.
From a young age, I have always been around dogs, in particular Bull Terrier breeds. From my teen years onwards, I have been a passionate ambassador for dog rescues and campaigning for Breed Specific Legislation. I have owned dogs for over 20 years and recently decided to focus on how I turn my passion for dog's into a career I could only dream about.
I am currently studying for a Level 3 Ofqal Qualification in Canine Care, Behaviour and Welfare.
Our home is in Wombourne Village (WV5), with direct access to the Wombourne Railway Walk (nature trail), Canal Walks, Baggeridge Country Park and within close proximity to the village centre.
We can’t wait to welcome your most faithful companions to our home, for a little holiday of their own.

We offer a range of services to meet the unique needs of every dog, including Daycare, Overnight Boarding, Drop in House Calls, Puppy Socialisation and a Bespoke Wedding Chaperone package.
Dog Daycare
Drop your dogs off at our home (pick ups can be arranged) and I will look after them. Daycare can be 1/2 a day or a whole day dependant on your needs. Your dog will have interaction time with our resident dog Dotty, the run of our home (whilst I am present) and a large enclosed garden.
Plus lots of cuddles (of course!).
Overnight Boarding
Drop your dogs off for a holiday of their own. This is a home from home experience for your pup. They will be taken care of like our own, with the added bonus of a live in bestie (Dotty) !!
Drop in House Calls - Dogs
I will drop in to your home and see your dogs in their own home environment. I can take them out for a walk, let them out in their own garden space, have a play, feed them, administer medication (if needed) and provide plenty of attention and cuddles. I have lots of local clients who complete our key consent form. Therefore you can enjoy a family day out, let errands overrun and work later if needed with the knowledge that I can drop in to your home to feed, walk or just give company to your dog‘s.
Specialised Puppy Care
After your puppy has had their 2nd vaccination, they can start to experience new environments and situations. Your puppy can come with us to do everyday activities e.g. the school run with my children, road walking, visit local shops, basic training, calm rest time (crate training if needed) and some play time, including interactions with our resident dog Dotty.
Drop in House Calls - Cats
I can drop in to see your cats whilst you are away. During these drop in visits I will put out fresh food, change water, administer medication (if needed), change litter tray/s and spend time with your feline companions.
Bespoke Wedding Chaperone
Are you getting married and want your dogs to be part of your special day?
I can bring your dogs to the Church or Wedding Reception, so that they can be a part of your celebrations and included in your photos.
What a great memory this would be for your wedding day and such a special talking point for all your guests as they see how special your dogs are to you both.
After I have brought the dogs to the Venue or Church, I can either drop them off at your property, keep them with me for the night or even have them board with us whilst on your honeymoon.
We offer a home from home experience for your dog/s, our home is their home - it is as simple as that!
We have a spacious, secure enclosed garden with 6 ft fences to keep your dogs safe in our outdoor space.
Once you make contact with us, we will arrange a meet and greet to ensure that you are happy with your dogs being in our home environment and to ensure that they get on with our resident dog Dotty.
If a booking is requested which is 3 nights or over, we will need to arrange a paid overnight trial prior to the date that you have booked with us (as per licensing conditions).
We will then ask you to complete a detailed booking form to ensure that we can cater to your dogs needs whilst they are with us.
Once we receive back your booking form then we will send out the invoice for the dates your dogs are booked in with us. Please note no booking is confirmed until a 50% deposit is received.
We have a variety of toys and activities to keep your dog enriched and entertained.
We have robust procedures in place, to ensure that we have effective cleaning controls, infection control, feeding regimes and enrichment plans for all ages / health levels of dogs who stay with us.
We have a separate 'dog space' in our home to feed and clean any dog's in our care.
Our home has 4 designated safe spaces for dogs which enables us to have space for Dotty, plus 3 other dogs.
This is Harper, she loves to steal socks 😂
Please reach us at if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Our two children have grown up with dogs since birth and are consistently educated in how to treat dogs with respect and understand canine behaviour and possible signals which may indicate a dog is feeling anxious or stressed . DDHB has a risk assessment in place to ensure a safe environment for our children and the dog's in our home.
The pick up time for home boarding stays is 9am however, if you are unable to collect your dog at this time, an additional day rate will be added to your overall quote.
Depending on other bookings we have in place and their pick up times, most drop offs can take place from 9.30 onwards.
Yes I do, our home was inspected by a South Staffordshire Environmental Health Officer. We got 4 stars (a new License Holder cannot get more than 4 stars as they have no client data)
Yes, I have a valid Enhanced DBS.
We are able to accommodate 3 dogs from different households alongside Dotty who is our dog (so 4 dogs total) .
We do offer solo boarding for one household of dog/s alongside our resident dog. This gives some families an opportunity for enhanced peace of mind whilst on holiday.
We are primarily a family and my focus is the safety of my children and resident dog. Therefore, I work really hard to ensure I review and use professional discretion to have the right mix and number of dogs staying at any one time dependant on breed, personalities and medical history.
Please note there is an additional surcharge if single household boarding is requested.
Please contact me to get further information on Dotty's Daycare & Home Boarding prices.
Drop ins are within a 3 mile radius of WV5 9BB. For drop ins over 3 miles from this postcode, there will be an additional charge of 45p per mile to and from your address once travel distance is over 3 miles.
Yes of course, as long as they have had all their vaccinations and are able to mix with other dogs.
However, dependant on the age of puppy and stage of puppy training there may be an additional charge advised at the time of enquiry due to level of care needs
